Only those who meet the following qualifications can be candidates for appointment to the post of dignitary.
(a) Nepali citizens,
(b) A serving or retired person with at least 10 years of experience in Nepal Army, Nepal Police or Armed Police Service at the relevant level,
(c) Not exceeding fifty-five years of age by the last date of application,
(d) certified as physically and mentally fit by an approved physician,
(e) Not being a member of any political party,
(f) Not dismissed from service so as to be disqualified for future government service,
(g) Not found guilty of corruption or any other criminal charges involving moral turpitude.
